Ghidul de optimizare NameDrive

Poți folosi mai mulți parametri la optimizarea domeniilor. Aceștia sunt:

Categoria/Sub-Categoria
Category / Subcategory

Function
Set four high-paying, highly-searched, relevant links at the top of your domains’ related searches in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Greek and Bulgarian (depending on the domain visitor’s IP location). The other 8 related searches on your domains are generated by the keyword you set and the searches made by visitors to your domains.

Categories you set also have corresponding default headers (See header preview)

Use
Select a Category and Subcategory to place the four most relevant related searches for that category on your domain. This also sets the header to the default header for that category on header templates and sets an adequate image on other templates. Choosing an adequate subcategory ensures that the top four related searches are highly-targeted to your specific domain.

Selecting no categories simply means that all 12 related searches on your domains are governed by your selected keyword. However, we strongly recommend setting categories where possible to target your page most effectively.

If you do not wish your selected category's related searches to show on your domain, you can choose 'Use Category RS - No' on the Domain Overview page under 'Landing Page Settings'.

Ad Type

Function
Allows you to select whether your domain will display 10 targeted ads in the main body of the page or a general multi-themed portal page.
Use
In most cases, it is suggested to use 1-click pages in conjunction with a relevant keyword to ensure that CTR remains as high as possible.
Portals are best-used for domains which have no specific target – e.g. information.com. CTR will generally be higher with a portal page for domains with broad topic areas.
Certain templates have been designed to be used predominantly as templates, so it is suggested you use Portal for these templates. The following templates are Portal templates: Portrait, Box, JSX, JSX 2, Kayak, Boulevard.

Keyword

Function
Governs the 1-click ads and related searches on your domains

Use
If you select 1-click advertising, choosing a relevant keyword will ensure that 10 relevant ads will appear on the page.
If you select a category for your domain, the top four related searches are set by the category, the keyword you enter will govern the remaining 8 searches.

If you set no keyword for your domain, our advertising provider will deliver ads determined by the domain name itself. This is not a problem if you have a one-word domain such as doctor.com, but our ad provider may struggle to read the domain in the case of DoctorsExchange.com, for example, so it is advisable to set a keyword where possible.

Once you have entered a keyword for your domain, it will be checked by the NameDrive team for validity. It is imperative that you only select keywords relevant to your specific domains.

While the keyword is going through the checking process, the keyword entry box will be coloured yellow. Once the keyword is cleared by NameDrive, it will turn green. If the keyword is declined by NameDrive, the box will turn red. Please choose your keywords with discretion and ask us if you have any queries about your selected keywords.

The best keywords are generally 1 to 4 words long such as 'credit', 'credit card', or 'credit card application', etc... If one word or phrase isn't sufficient, add in another separated by a comma. It's important to note that keywords are used only to determine what ads will appear and do not contribute to search engine optimization.

Header

Function
Determines which header will appear at the top of your parked pages. Click on the header preview to help you select the most relevant header for your domains.

Use
Setting the correct header can have an enormous difference on CTR. Making the page tailored to what the visitor is looking for will greatly encourage page interaction.
Each category has its corresponding header as default. If you are unfamiliar with the headers, it is recommended you view the headers to check they are relevant to your domain.

Template

Function
Determines which template is used for the domain. This affects the way the entire page looks. There are large variety of templates to choose from.

Use
Changing the template can massively increase CTR on a domain and it is recommended you try several different templates for your domains as each domain performs differently with specific templates. We encourage you to use the Magnifier Preview to see how each template affects your domains. The templates can be sorted into various categories which are outlined below:

Header templates
Looks- These templates are designed with NameDrive's large collection of targeted headers in mind. These templates are particularly suited to generic terms which can be easily categorized and have a matching header.
When using one of these templates, the header is selected by either setting a category (all of which have a default, targeted header), or by choosing a header from the 'Header' dropdown. The header templates are: Classic, Classic 2, Canvas, Canvas 2, No RS.

No Image templates  This is a no-frills look which suits US traffic in particular. The templates are generally all about getting the links on the page rather than targeted them visually to the users. The No Image templates are: Basic 1&2, Simple, Spring, Box, .mobi.

Category Image templates - These templates have a large dependence on images set when you set a category for your domain. Each category has a specific image associated with it which will be shown on the landing page. In some cases, these templates have up to 5 images on the page related to your selected category. These are visually imposing templates to draw the user in. The Category Image templates are: Kayak, Boulevard, Marquee 2, JSX 2.

Generic Image templates - These templates are image driven, but are suitable for hard-to-categorize domains, showing some generic images rather than images targeted to any category chosen. The Generic Image templates are: Marquee, JSX, Portrait

Sector Specific templates - These templates are dedicated to one specific niche rather than being suitable for all categories. The template names suggest which sectors are best served by them. The Sector Specific templates are: Electronics, Finance, Business, Internet, Real Estate, MP3, Travel

Adult templates - These templates are suitable for domains of an adult nature. Contrary to what we see several clients doing, setting adult templates on non-adult domains does not encourage people to interact with the page more! In fact, it generally has a detrimental effect on CTR.

For Sale

Function
Sets a contact link in the top right of your parked domains, allowing internet users to contact you about a possible purchase of the domain.

Use
There are three settings for this variable - Yes, Contact and No. If you are looking to sell your domains, you can massively increase your chances by setting your domains to Yes.

This will place a link on your domains saying ‘Enquire about this domain’. Every visitor to your domains then becomes a potential buyer as they can make a bid directly through your domain. Visitors are taken from the link to a standard NameDrive offer page where visitors can make an offer directly to you. If the domain is listed on NDX Market, the offer will be submitted to you via the NDX Market system. You will be informed by mail when you have a pending offer.

If you set the domain to 'Contact', the interested party will be taken to a basic contact form where they can direct you directly by email.

Magnifier Preview / ND Sandbox

Function
When you click on the magnifying glass next to the keyword input box, you enter the magnifier preview. This allows you to preview any settings you make to your page across all major languages in the world.

Use
You can either make the changes to your domain settings before you click on the magnifying glass or you can click on the magnifying glass and make the changes by clicking ‘customize preview’ at the top of the page and saving your changes when you close the preview.
To see how your newly-optimized page will look to users, click the ‘Refresh’ button.
To save your changes, click the ‘Save’ button.
As well as the standard optimization tools listed above, you also have a ‘Country’ dropdown menu. This is a preview menu only, it is not a settings menu. It will show you how your page will look in the country you choose. NameDrive has landing pages in every major world language and has Geo-Targeted ads. This means that the landing page will appear in the correct language for all major languages in the world according to the viewer’s IP address. We will deliver advertising from our advertising partner in any country for which they return ads in that country. If you have a domain with a theme which is the same around the world (e.g. “Internet”), our ad provider will return advertising for Internet in the language of the page viewer, it is not necessary to set a keyword in different languages.

The default language for the magnifier preview is the country where the NameDrive user is located. For example, if you are in the US, the default country will be ‘United States’. If you are in the UK, your default country will be United Kingdom.

When you click ‘save’ on the magnifier preview, be sure to click ‘save changes’ at the bottom of your settings page as well to ensure the changes take effect.

Optimization tips

Here are some quick tips to help you through domain optimization:

Obviously, we feel it is best if you optimize all your domains as thoroughly as possible but we also realize that portfolio owners with a large number of names may not have the time or the inclination to put hours into optimizing domains with few hits per month.

At the very least, we suggest you set a relevant category for your domain. We have found that this can even be more effective than just setting a relevant keyword as our advertising partner is capable of setting their own keyword from the domain name. Setting a relevant category will add four related searches to your domain which often prove a good source of revenue.

- We will gladly ‘fix’ 12 related searches on your domains should you wish to hand-pick the most relevant 12 searches on each domain. Just email us at parking@namedrive.com with your desired 12 related searches and we will put them on the page for you.

- The most powerful optimization tools can be found on the Domain Overview page. Here, you can set keywords for every country in the world as well as set various other parameters for your domains. You can find out more by visiting Domain Settings.

- In the settings area, you can see your domains sorted by the number of views they receive. This enables you to see easily if any of your domains are being viewed often but have a low CTR. It is highly recommended that you check your domains regularly and optimize any domains with significant traffic to ensure you achieve the most from your domains.

- It is generally accepted that 15-20% is a CTR with which you can be satisfied. If a domain is performing lower than this, it is a good idea to try and optimize it differently, be it a different template, a new keyword or a new header.

- When choosing a keyword for your domain, be sure to aim for relevancy rather than click price. Setting a keyword for a domain because it is said to have a high click-price is not only against our terms and conditions, it is also counter intuitive as you will receive far fewer clicks than on a domain with a correct keyword. In addition, our ad provider will see that the keyword is not converting well and will pay the keyword out at a lower price.

Optimizing foreign domains and optimizing for specific countries

NameDrive has landing pages in every major world language and we work with the world's Number One advertising partner, meaning your pages will look perfectly-targeted to users around the world for almost limitless keywords across millions of terms.

The ads that appear on our pages are generated automatically by our ad provider to match the visitors’ region. So, if your keyword is an international term, such as ‘Internet’, viewers in different regions of the world will see ads relevant to their country. Even visitors in the UK, USA and Australia would see relevant advertising for their specific English-speaking area. Viewing a page from your own country’s IP will show you advertising for your country. Bear in mind people in your target country will see ads pertinent to them.

Although NameDrive offers you the option to set optimization for every country in the world, this is not necessary in the majority of cases. In most cases, setting a keyword for "All regions" will be sufficient. However, if you have traffic from several countries on one domain and you can see that the traffic from that region is not performing well, it is worth looking at optimizing that specific country

You can also set keywords for English / French / Spanish speaking countries. Again, this is generally not necessary unless you have significant traffic from those countries.

If you have keywords set for various regions and countries, the system works as follows:
All regions - These settings will be used for all countries where there are no specific settings.
Language groups - These settings will be used in all major countries speaking these languages. For these countries, it will override the settings for 'All regions'.
Specific country - These settings are 'dominant' and will be used in this specific country. It will override settings for All regions and any language groups selected.

Setting a category for your domain sets relevant searches on the page for the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Greek and Bulgarian. If the majority of your traffic is coming from a country not in this list, the searches will appear in English, so it may be better not to set a category, or to set the 'Use Category RS' setting to 'No'.

Bulk Optimization

NameDrive provides you the opportunity to use folders, not only to order your domains, but also to be able to update large numbers of domains in short periods of time. With this system, you can make changes to 1000’s of domains at the touch of a button.
You can carry out bulk optimization in two areas: The Portfolio Optimization page and the Folder Optimization page.
To access the Portfolio Optimization page, simply click ‘Optimization' on the left navigation menu when you log into your account. This takes you to a page where you can see all the folders in your account. Simply change any of the parameters you like next to the relevant folder and click ‘Save Changes’. A warning window will appear. Simply click ‘OK’ to make the changes to all domains in that folder.
To access the Folder Optimization page, click on one of your folders displayed on the Portfolio Optimization page. Alternatively, click the small ‘Optimization' link under the folder name when viewing your statistics on a folder level. To bulk change all domains in that folder, simply use the check box next to the parameter you wish to change, make the necessary alterations and click ‘Save Changes’. Again, the warning window will appear. Click ‘OK’ to change all domains in that folder.

What are the highest paying keywords?

It is well-known that some keywords are higher-paying than others, with Finance and Healthcare being two well-cited areas for high paying advertising. If you’d like to know which keywords work with your specific domains, we are happy to tell you which keywords perform well on the ND system. However, it is vital that optimization is done for relevancy rather than the click prices of individual keywords. If you set irrelevant, high-paying keywords for your domains, they will be rejected by the ND Keyword review team.

Can NameDrive help me to obtain the maximum earnings on my domains?
Yes. If you’d like to get more out of your account, simply send us a mail to parking@namedrive.com and we’d be happy to look at improving performance for you.
Is it possible to import keyword settings from a previous parking partner to my NameDrive account?
Yes, if you can get your settings from your previous parking partner in an Excel format, then we can upload them into your account. Please contact us at parking@namedrive.com if you would like any further information on this.
I have a foreign language domain and have set a foreign keyword, but when I view the domain in the Magnifier Preview or in my browser it is all in English. Why is this?
The default language for the magnifier preview is the country where you reside. It will therefore display the page as it would appear in your country – for example the US. If a user views the page in a foreign country, e.g. France, the page will appear in the correct language. You can mimic this by selecting ‘France’ as the country in the Magnifier Preview.
I want to change the header on some templates, but the system wont let me. Why not?

Some templates do not support headers, so no header can be selected. You can find out which templates support headers by looking at the Templates section of the Optimization Guide.

Vezi de asemenea:
I have an adult domain but it is not receiving any adult ads. Why is this?
NameDrive automatically puts all domains on an adult filter to prevent adult content appearing on non-adult domains. If you want adult content to appear on your pages, setting the domain in the Adult category will automatically override the adult filter. In some European countries, our ad provider does not deliver adult advertising. This is not a problem in the US or the UK.
What is the difference between portal and 1-click?
In most cases, it is suggested to use 1-click pages in conjunction with a relevant keyword to ensure that CTR remains as high as possible.
Portal pages are best used for domains which have no specific target – e.g. information.com. CTR will generally be higher with a portal page for domains with broad topic areas.
You can find out which templates are designed with portals in mind in the Templates section of the Optimization guide. It is suggested you use the Portal option as these pages are designed with portals in mind.
How are the related searches generated on my domains?
The related searches on your domains are generated in four ways:
If you set no category or keyword (i.e simply list the domain with NameDrive), your domain will start out with 12 'standard', popular, searches (such as 'cheap flights', 'jobs' etc.)
If you select a category or a category + subcategory, this will set four highly-searched, strong PPC, relevant links as the first 4 related searches. The further 8 will be the top 8 'standard' searches.
If you select categories and input a keyword, the remaining 8 related searches after the four category-generated searches will be generated by the keyword.
When users click one of the searches on your domain or search for something in the search box, these are placed on the list of related searches. The more searched / clicked the term is, the higher it appears on the list.
Any of these user searches which are unwanted can be removed by using the check boxes next to each term on the Domain Settings page.
Related searches which appear on your domain but not in the list on the Domain Settings page can be changed either by selecting a new category or inputting a new keyword.
