Does NameDrive support Internationalized Domain Names (IDN domains)?
Yes. NameDrive is proud to be the first domain monetization company to offer full support for IDN domains. You can list the domain in Unicode or Punycode and set keywords in Japanese, Korean etc depending on the domains you own. We have landing pages in, among others, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic Thai and Hebrew.
Which countries does NameDrive serve advertising in for IDN domains?
We deliver advertising in every country which our advertising partner serves ads in. They are still gathering momentum in many of these countries, but more and more advertisers are coming on board.

How do I optimize IDN domains on NameDrive?
As our ad provider cannot ‘read’ IDN domains in the same way that they can read ASCII names, it is recommended that you set a keyword where possible in the language of the domains’ traffic. However, ND ensures that ads are returned on IDN names by setting the truncated domain name as the keyword if you do not set a keyword.

How do I optimize foreign domains on NameDrive?
As the category / subcategory option currently only has content in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, it is advised to set no category for domains where the viewers speak a language other these five. If your traffic is from regions where English, French, Italian, Spanish or German are not the main language, the best method of optimization is to set the ad type to ‘1 click’, select a relevant keyword in the relevant language and a suitable header.

If your keyword is an international term, such as ‘Internet’, viewers in France, Spain and Germany will see ads relevant to them. Even visitors in the UK, USA and Australia would see relevant advertising for their specific English-speaking area. Viewing a page from your own country’s IP will show you advertising for your country. Bear in mind people in your target country will see ads pertinent to them.

I have a foreign language domain and have set a foreign keyword, but when I view the domain in the Magnifier Preview or in my browser it is all in English. Why is this?
The default language for the magnifier preview is the country where you reside. It will therefore display the page as it would appear in your country – for example the US. If a user views the page in a foreign country, e.g. France, the page will appear in the correct language. You can mimic this by selecting ‘France’ as the country in the Magnifier Preview.
